I began as an astronomer. searching for bright flashes, vast distances, unreachable things. I awake as an ancestor. here in the beginning of all things. one line borrowed from the poetry of Troy Jollimore. I'm so pleased to finally be able to share this image with you which was created for the premier issue of Tallulah Magazine. A brand new contemporary art and design, print only publication from London.
at the request of a particular publication I've been on a bit of a shooting spree lately creating new work. my plan was to create her whole dress out of leaves but it was an ambitious project and I fell short of time to complete it. now that I have no due date I plan on taking my time to craft her a dress worthy of mother nature herself. muse: Allie Pratt
took a trip out to the Hoh Rainforest a couple of weeks ago to celebrate
my birthday. I wanted to do a quick
selfie as the last time I was there I did one so I figured it was fitting. I found this awesome walking stick and used
it as a prop in the photo then left it there for someone else to find. it really is like another world out there...
I'm so pleased to invite you to my exhibition at Axis Gallery this October. my work will be up all month. if you are in the are please stop in.
this is the second image I've created inspired by the dances of Tanzhaus Wuppertal and Pina Bausch. this one specifically by the dance of a woman in a faded red dress with red paint on her face. her poses were exquisite and I found the mystery of how and why the paint got to be on her face so alluring. for whatever reason it made me think of paint horses with their lovely and unique spotted coat... side bit: this was taken in the same spot as the last image I posted. hee hee~ I'm so pleased to invite you to my exhibition at Axis Gallery this October. my work will be up all month. if you are in Seattle I'd love to see/meet you at the art walk on thursday October 2nd!
excited to share with you all a new creation of mine inspired by one of Alexander McQueen's awesome dresses. I built the twig crown myself by collection branches and moss over the last few months then affixing them to a twine and poster-board headband I made. then to make it look dusty and also to match the dress I gave it a light coat of spray paint. I do have images with lace over the crown but you'll have to stay tuned to see them. ;)
thanks to a fantastic team who made this project so wonderful!
it's been a while since I went outside and made an ass of myself for a self portrait so I figured I better get back into it. :) nothing like jumping around on a hill in a park to start your day.
so much went into this shoot. it fell apart many times and in the end I had to be the model and have my team help me shoot it. but we got it done. thank you so much to my team, you ladies kick ass!
finally getting around to posting some photos from a recent trip to a chinese garden that is in the process of being built in west seattle. it should be quite impressive when its complete. here are some of the shots though I'm still editing.
