had a hankerin' to go back to this spot in Fort Worden State Park (the same place I shot this image a couple of years ago) and shoot with the old life boat again. so we did. :) the weather was lovely, we made perfect time with the ferry & I got to wear this vintage dress I bought long ago and had forgotten about.

I was looking through my images to see who I could take out and pop in somewhere else and came across this image. I thought why hadn't I edited this one already? it's perfect!
this image was taken at a workshop in the California desert I attended last spring. the great thing about having a ton of shots from an all day workshop is you can take your time editing them. :)

side note: ok, for some reason this image really looks like a 60's jazz album cover to me. the fact that it's a square frame helps I'm sure but it just screams to have "Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66" or "Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass" across the top of it. don't you agree? :D

second selfie from last weekend. I went to Magunson Park and climbed to the top of a hill that I'd never climbed before. at the top was this tree, all split & growing in different directions. it was the only thing there so I pretty much had to take a photo with it. the climb back down was easy and the day was warm and lovely. I listend to reggae with the windows down on the drive home.

I'm very pleased to say that my image tropic of cancer is showing as part of the SKIN exhibit at Darkroom Gallery this month. stop by if you're in the area~

I've really been hating my selfies for a long time now. they're so much harder than simply taking photos of another person which I'd much rather do, hands down. but I still love the spontaneity of selfies. just taking off on your own to create something, so I vowed to get out this past weekend and shoot some selfies outside (everything inside I completely hated) and to use my 50mm. another thing I haven't done in a while. the weather was wonderful and finally felt like Spring. it was good to be out in it.

well, here's to gettin' back into it. :)
