I went over to Camp Long to get some photos with the climbing rock yesterday. my plan was to get some shots looking up at the top with me looking down but when I got there I found I left my remote at home somewhere so I had to settle for the 10 second timer. I'm always thankful for the 10 but I hate getting used to it all over again. anyway, I spotted this little niche and stuffed myself in there for a few shots before it started sprinkling.
time to put the wash in the dryer. maybe when it stops raining a long walk with the dog for the clean air. happy sunday~

I really wanted to edit this as a clone photo. I thought it would like really interesting to see three veiled figures but no matter what I tried it just looked... not right. so I edited just my favorite shot instead. I still like it and I'll probably try it with clones again some other time.

so it snowed and I got a snow day so I figured I could at least work on a selfie today. I wanted to do something simple and classical. like a painting. I like it but I sorta feel like it's missing something and I'm not sure what it is. oh well, now for cinnamon toast.
things the snow brings:
that soft cruch sound when you walk on it.
the sound of kids ging woo! as they sled down the hill.
lots of hot cocoa.
the tips of your toes getting all super cold.
watching your dog make tracks in the snow.

so I finally did an Ophelia. yes, I know everyone does them but I figured I'd try one too. what the hell. took a tip from the wonderful Marina Refur and lined my tub with black cloth for this. there is no way I'm getting into the lake this time of year! I'm pretty satisfied with this photo, but not completely so I'll probably attempt something like this again at some point.
coming out of the 365 has proven to be a difficult adjustment for me. I sort of feel crushed by all the freedom and like I sure as hell better come up with something brilliant and amazing soon or I'll fall off the face of the earth. doesn't help that it's freezing and dark and snowing outside either. >:-|

it's been wonderful taking a break from selfies but I knew when this weeknd rolled around I was gonna want to get out and try some stuff. then it snowed and I decided to stay inside and try some other things I'd been thinking about. brrrrrrr~
