hey everyone! so I'm back from my awesome weekend in Portland. I had a great time, saw some old friends and made new ones. it was a fun, sunny and very busy weekend in which I got LOTS of photography in. I had connectivity problems from the hotel for some reason and that's why no posts but to be honest I had little time to post anyway between super fun photography in the park with Marico and Mya to the multiple drinks and food with my old high school friends Danielle and Rick.
this one is from Friday when Marico and I when into Forest Park. only a few peeps stumbled upon us taking photos of ourselves dancing around the forest. :)

I got this dress at the thrift store like a month ago and hadn't done anything with it yet so I figured tonight I'd see what I could do with it's acres of fabric. it's a pretty color, like seafoam green but man is it ugly straight on! ugly dress = good photo prop. :)

today is my birthday and I spent the day doing exactly what I most enjoy. going on a photographic adventure! Paul and I headed out to Port Townsend since I had never been there before. what an awesome town. so many great things to photograph from the architecture in town to this wrecked vessel stranded on the sand in Fort Worden State Park. I admit, I had seen a photo with a dinghy like this from this park before so you can image how happy I was when we actually found it. :) it was a great day and I will sleep good tonight after all the treking through town and beach.
I love this photo and I think I got pretty much exactly what I wanted with this shot. hope you like it's quiet stillness too!

I kinda took the night off on thursday. didn't really mean to but it happened all the same. so I'm posting another shot from my trip to Northern State Hospital. found this beautiful clear creek and I just had to step in. it was about 80 degrees that day but I tell you that water was still super cold! :)

so I got a flat tire on the way home. lame. a true good samaritan stopped to help me. he got all dirty and late for drinks and everything. and he wouldn't accept anything of course. my spare was flat so I went to the nearest gas station to get some air but the tire wouldn't fill up.
!!!!!
I go to the only local service station in the area and the very nice guy working there jacks it up and tells me that when low and driven on a bit they lose the seal and once the wheel's up, the air goes in. (so i DO know how to use the air hose! I thought I was an idiot!) but I didn't know that about spares.
all in all the universe took very good care of me through so very kind people and me and the donut made it home. it totally jolted my evening so here I am posting late. now to munch something and off to sleep.
hope if/when your tire blows out a good samaritan finds you too~ :)

spent the day up at the old northern state hospital taking photos of awesome old blackberry claimed buildings and a few of myself in an old dress. :) what a great day. it was super hot though. had to get an icee afterwards.

got this new vintage dress and I love how it opens in the back so I decided to try to do something showing my spine and when I saw this twisty old tree I thought, score! :)
this was taken at the same place as this photo was. there are apple, pear, quince, walnut and some others in this tiny orchard.

did the greenwood art walk with Len last night. it was fun and the weather was nice. plus I got to check out this great studio space with all sorts of different themed rooms. it would be awesome to shoot there.
this was part of a glow in the dark exhibit. the reflection is from the glass topped table in the middle of the room that I set my camera on. (everyone bumped into it) there were supposed to be free tacos but we missed out so we went to the pig & whistle and split a salmon burger and fries instead. yumm~

I was trying to capture the last rays of sunlight this evening. literally and figuratively. :) I tried to bring out the pinkiness that there was at the time.
expect a few more non-selfies from me this week. I need to get caught up on laundry, groceries & bills n' such. plus I'm really at a point where they're making me nuts. my ideas have just grown beyond what I can do by myself. my kingdom for a model...
